John Barker

John Barker has worked in various roles in the health, environment, and safety industry since 1997. John began their career as a Rig Manager/Driller at NABORS DRILLING USA in 1997, and then moved to Plains Exploration & Production in 2001 as a HES Advisor. In 2006, they joined Oxy as a HES Advisor Sr Drilling and HES Advisor. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Self Employed Consultant in Health, Environment and Safety. John then worked as a Safety Manager at EMCOR Facilities Services from 2016 to 2017. In 2017, they became an Independent Consultant at Silver State Safety Services, LLC. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Safety Consultant at Eagle Consultants LLC and a Contract Safety Advisor at EAGLE CONSULTING, LLC. Currently, they are a Consulting Corporate Safety Advisor at DrilTech, LLC, and will soon become a HSEQ Manager at Fervo Energy in 2022.

John Barker's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance/Real Estate options from California State University, Northridge, which they obtained from 1988 to 1991. John also attended Feather River Prep School from 1971 to 1972, where they obtained their High School Diploma in General. Prior to that, they attended the University of Nevada, Reno from 1974 to 1975, studying Business Administration and Management, General. Finally, they attended Moorpark College from 1986 to 1988, studying Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, John Barker has obtained several certifications, including Certified Safety and Health Manager from the Institute for Safety and Health Management in May 2016, State of Nevada Safety Practioneer from Nevada SCAT in April 2016, Graduate IOSH from IOSH in August 2015, and Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in December 2007.
