Puna Hajimohammadi

Writer/Producer at Fever Dream Films

Puna is originally from Iran and now resides and works in the UK. At Tehran University, she earned a Master's degree in directing. She then moved to acting, appearing in popular TV shows like Khane Dar Tariki and Mazrae Kochak and films such as Aroosak Farangi and Hidden Half. At their peak, her TV shows were viewed by 30 million people in Iran and the Arab world.

While her acting career in Iran opened up arts, theatre, and film opportunities, it also caused conflict with the government's Ministry of Culture. Her bold theatre productions and a photo of her shaking hands with a European film festival leader resulted in a year-long work ban. Unhappy with the restrictions and unwilling to work under the Iranian regime, Puna moved to the UK.

For the past eleven years, Puna has been the creative producer for Fever Dream Films, overseeing the development of TV pilots and feature film screenplays for NBC Universal and Skydance.

In addition to her work as a producer, Puna continues to act, starring in UK films like 'The Machine', 'Don't Knock Twice', and the Kurdish film, 'Words with Gods', which was screened at the Venice Film Festival. She had the star role in 'A Temporary Story', a feature film by Romed Wyder.
