Senior Mechanical Engineer at Fi

Aaron Sirken has a long and varied work experience. Aaron began their career in 2014 as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Maryland Microrobotics Lab. Aaron also worked as a 3D Printing TA at the University of Maryland during the same year. In 2014, they began working at Latch as a Hardware Engineer, eventually becoming a Mechanical Engineer and then a Senior Mechanical Engineer. In 2022, they began working at Fi as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. At the University of Maryland Microrobotics Lab, Aaron was the inventor and lead designer of the BRIDGE Bot platform, which included mechanical design, PCB design, and software development. Aaron also designed custom modular electronics in Eagle software and developed plane passive flexible joints to be printed on the Connex multimaterial printer. At Latch, they managed a team of undergraduates.

Aaron Sirken began their educational journey in 2009 when they attended the University of Pennsylvania for the SAAST Robotics Program. Aaron then enrolled at the University of Maryland in 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2016. Following that, they completed a Master's Degree in Robotics at the University of Maryland in 2017. In 2011, they also obtained a Small Boat Instructor Level 1 certification from US Sailing.
