Hanan Jasim Khammas is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in contemporary Arabic literature and comparative literature. Currently serving as a Research Associate at Duke University since August 2024 and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universitat de Barcelona since September 2022, Hanan also holds the position of Junior Editor at Revista Banipal since October 2019 and has been a faculty member at FIAC Idiomes Empreses since September 2008. Hanan's teaching experience includes roles as Adjunct Lecturer and Temporary Lecturer at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where contemporary Arabic literature and thought are key areas of focus. Hanan's educational background includes a PhD in Comparative Literature from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, alongside master's and bachelor's degrees in literary theory, comparative literature, and English philology from the same institution, as well as participation in the Scottish Universities International Summer School at The University of Edinburgh.
