Magesh Saba

Magesh Saba has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Magesh is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer / Competitions Director for the Indian National Basketball League (INBL) since June 2021. In this role, they are focused on improving the quality and popularity of basketball in India.

Prior to their current position, Magesh worked for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in multiple roles. Magesh served as the Broadcast Operations Manager, responsible for coordinating TV aspects in venues, ensuring smooth TV production according to guidelines, and managing satellite distribution and master recordings. Magesh also worked as the TV Operations Manager and Event Director for FIBA events in India, overseeing all aspects of event organization and delivery.

Before joining FIBA, Magesh held the title of National Federations & Sport Head - Asia at FIBA, where they facilitated the development and growth of basketball in 45 National Federations in Asia. Magesh also worked as a columnist for AsiaScope, providing in-depth analysis of basketball issues in the FIBA Asia region.

Additionally, Magesh has held various positions in the media industry, including Head of Communications and Media Manager for FIBA Asia, Executive Director at Electra Engineering, Assistant Editor at CIOL, Sports Editor at Vijay Times, and Principal Correspondent/Chief Sub-Editor at The New Indian Express.

Overall, Magesh Saba has a strong background in basketball management, event organization, media, and journalism, with a focus on promoting and developing the sport in India and Asia.

Magesh Saba completed their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Financial Management and Taxation at MES College of Arts, Commerce & Science from 1990 to 1993. Following this, they pursued their Master's degree in Communication, specializing in Mass Communication, from Bangalore University between 1993 and 1995.
