Gerardo Vargas has extensive work experience in various finance and banking roles. Gerardo is currently serving as the CFO at Engenium Capital, a position they have held since 2018. Prior to that, they were the CFO at Fibra Uno (FUNO) starting in 2014. In 2013, they held two roles simultaneously: Deputy Director General at Grupo Monex and Director General Adjunto de Productos Bancarios y Tesoreria at Grupo Financiero Monex. From 2004 to 2012, they worked at BBVA as the MD Head of Institutional Clients Group. Before that, they served as the CFO at GRUMA from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they worked at PEMEX as the Subdirector de Financiamientos from 2001 to 2003. From 1997 to 2001, they held the position of CEO at Operadora de Bolsa Serfin/Head of Sales and Trading at Serfin at SERFIN. Their earliest work experience was at Banamex, where they were the Head of Risk Control in the Markets Unit from 1991 to 1997.
Gerardo Vargas obtained a Licentiate degree in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México between 1977 and 1981. Gerardo further pursued a Master's degree in Economics at the University of Chicago from 1984 to 1988.
