Derek began their career at TD Canada Trust as a Customer Service Representative and then transitioned into a role as a Financial Advisor. In 2010, they joined Simon Fraser University as an Associate Portfolio Manager for the Student Investment Advisory Service (SIAS). Derek then moved on to Fidelity Canada, where they held several positions including Senior Investment Analyst, Director of Market Research, Director of Retail Products and Solutions, and their current role as Director of Product Solutions. With a strong background in finance and a focus on product solutions, Derek brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to their current role at Fidelity Canada.
Derek Wong, CFA holds a Master of Science in Finance with a specialization in Financial Risk Management from Simon Fraser University, which they obtained from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, Derek completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Marketing from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Derek has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder designation from the CFA Institute.
