Jacob Clauson has a strong background in compliance and tax law. Jacob started their career at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity as an Americorps Member. Jacob then worked as a Legal Intern at the State of New York, Office of the Attorney General. Jacob also gained experience as a Summer Associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP before becoming a Student Practitioner at the University of North Carolina School of Law, Community Development Law Clinic. Jacob furthered their expertise in tax law as a Presidential Management Fellow at the Council on Foundations and as a Tax Law Specialist & Presidential Management Fellow at the Internal Revenue Service, Exempt Organizations. Jacob moved into the private sector as an Associate at Caplin & Drysdale before joining Fidelity Charitable as the Director of Compliance and eventually becoming the Vice President of Compliance.

Jacob Clauson pursued their education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from 2002 to 2005. Jacob then went on to attend the University of North Carolina School of Law, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from 2007 to 2010. Additionally, they obtained a Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from the University of North Carolina School of Social Work in 2010.
