Tobi Becerra

Tobi Becerra has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. They started their career as the Coordinator of Education and Community Programs at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, where they managed community arts integration programs and organized various public events. They then worked as the Managing Director/Production Manager at Backhausdance, where they oversaw the managerial aspects of a professional dance company, including fundraising, event management, and program development. Tobi also worked as the Special Projects Coordinator at Chapman University, where they managed development operations and marketing for the University Advancement department. They then joined Santa Clara University as the Principal Gifts Academic Liaison and Project Coordinator, where they engaged with high-capacity donors and collaborated with academic units to create partnerships. Tobi later joined the Silicon Valley Community Foundation as a Philanthropy Advisor, where they developed and implemented grantmaking programs, community engagement initiatives, and philanthropic education. Prior to their current role, Tobi worked at Fidelity Charitable as the Director of Philanthropic Strategies, serving as a strategic partner to ultra-high-net-worth donors and facilitating their giving and community connections.

Tobi Becerra obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance/Theatre from Chapman University, where they attended from 1995 to 2001. They then pursued a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Purchase College, SUNY in 2012. Tobi furthered their education at Santa Clara University from 2013 to 2014, where they studied Interdisciplinary Education. Later, Tobi earned a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University, attending from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, Tobi obtained certifications as a 21/64 Certified Advisor from 21/64 in January 2020 and in Nonprofit Management from SUNY, Purchase College.
