Javier Santos Paniego has worked in the software development field since 2007. From 2007 to 2011, they worked at Ips Vial S.L. (Inventarios y Proyectos de Señalización Vial) as a CAD Tools Developer, where they developed macro tools for supporting cartography projects with Bentley Microstation V8 and V8i, using VBA and VB. Javier also provided system administration including Active directory, project backup, and OS installation. From 2011 to 2014, they worked at Habla Computing as a Scala Developer for Speech Platforms, where they developed social web applications. From 2014 to 2015, they worked at Tecsisa as a Scala Developer, where they developed backend architecture, data calculus with Spark for processing BigData streams, and system integration using Apache Kafka. From 2015 to 2016, they worked at StratioBD as a Big Data Developer, where they developed Spark Data Sources and Spark SQL connectors, as well as designed and implemented client projects based on Spark-Streaming, Kafka, Akka, etc. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Qvantel as a Scala Developer, where they designed and implemented a framework that allowed generating multiple sources of input for the company product. From 2018 to present, they have worked at Fidesmo as a Scala Developer, where they have been developing product platform features and designing and implementing services such as access control and payments.

Javier Santos Paniego has a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Science from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos which they obtained from 2005 to 2011. Javier then went on to obtain their Master's degree in Computer Science from the same university from 2011 to 2012. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, such as Front-end Foundations from Code School in January 2018, Accelerating Through Angular 2 from Code School in February 2017, HTML, CSS & Javascript from Coursera in September 2015, Developer Certification for Apache Spark from Databricks in August 2015, Functional Programming Principles in Scala from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in July 2014, Principles of Reactive Programming from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in December 2013, Graded Examinations in Spoken English Level 10 from Trinity College London in 2003, and Programación funcional avanzada con Scala from Habla Computing in May 2016.
