Luis Rodero-Merino Ph.D. has extensive experience in software engineering and research. Luis began their career in 2001 as a Researcher / Teaching Assistant at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Luis then moved on to become a Researcher at Telefónica I+D in 2008, followed by a Researcher role at INRIA in 2010. In 2011, they became a Researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and then Senior Researcher at GRADIANT in 2012. In 2015, they worked as a Scala Software Engineer at 47 Degrees and Habla Computing. In 2016, they were a Scala Software Engineer at StratioBD, and in 2017 they held Senior Software Engineer roles at Qvantel and Fidesmo.

Luis Rodero-Merino Ph.D. obtained their PhD in Computing Engineering, Telematics from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in 2007. Luis also obtained a Master in Computing Engineering from Universidad de Valladolid in 2000. In addition, they attended the ASDM Summer School UPM 2013. Luis has also obtained several certifications, including Functional programming course in Scala from Habla Computing in May 2017, Functional Programming in Scala Capstone from Coursera in April 2017, Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark from Coursera in March 2017, Functional Program Design in Scala from Coursera in August 2016, Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in August 2016, Parallel programming from Coursera Course Certificates in July 2016, and Parallel programming from Coursera in July 2016.
