Michael Bryson

Scientific Affiliate at FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

Michael Bryson is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in higher education. Since August 2017, Michael has served as the Chair of the Department of Law, Society & Sustainability at the College of Humanities, Education, & Social Sciences at Roosevelt University, where Michael has been a Professor and Director of Sustainability Studies since 1996. As the founding director of the Sustainability Studies program, established in 2010, Michael also oversees the Roosevelt Urban Sustainability Lab and advises the student organization RU Green. Additionally, Michael holds a position as a Scientific Affiliate at The Field Museum, allowing collaboration with various museum experts. Michael's academic journey includes serving as an Instructor of English at Virginia Tech and earning a PhD in English from Stony Brook University, along with a BA in Biology and English from Illinois Wesleyan University.
