Nate Upham

Research Associate at FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

Nate Upham currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Research Professor & Associate Curator of Mammals at Arizona State University since February 2020. Upham's research experience includes a long-standing role as a Research Associate at The Field Museum, beginning in September 2014, where collaboration with Dr. Bruce Patterson and Pritzker Lab staff takes place. Previously, during a postdoctoral position at Yale University from April 2015 to February 2020, stewardship of the NSF-funded VertLife Terrestrial project occurred. Upham has held various roles in academia, including Postdoctoral Fellow at McMaster University, where work focused on the evolutionary genomics of mammals, and Instructor at the University of Chicago. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and master's degrees in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Chicago, as well as a master's and bachelor's in Biology from Occidental College.
