Tim Huelskamp

Tim Huelskamp is an accomplished entrepreneur and financier with extensive experience in venture capital and private equity. As Co-Founder and CEO of 1440 since August 2017, Tim has been instrumental in providing over 3 million intellectually curious subscribers with unbiased knowledge. In addition, Tim co-founded Fifth Star Funds in May 2020 to support Black tech founders in Chicago, addressing the critical funding disparities in the venture capital landscape. Prior experience includes significant roles at American Capital, where Tim worked from 2008 to 2016 in various capacities, including Principal and Vice President, focusing on technology investments and operations. Earlier in the career, Tim developed foundational financial skills at Jefferies & Company as an Investment Banking Analyst and completed summer internships at KPMG and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Tim holds a degree from Boston College, earned between 2001 and 2005.
