Katie McDermott has a diverse work background, beginning with their time as an Administrative Assistant at The University of Georgia in 2005. Katie worked as a Program Manager there until 2008 and then moved on to internships in mental health services and federal housing programs. In 2010, they worked as a Business and Community Relations Consultant for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. Katie then transitioned into Applied Technology and Program Management at the American Institutes for Research in 2011. From 2015 to 2022, they worked at NCR Corporation, first as a Manager of SaaS Implementations and then as a Customer Success Manager. From 2020 to 2022, they served as a Solution Deployment Manager at Docebo. Katie is currently the Director of Customer Onboarding and Support at Fig Learning, their most recent position which they began in July 2022.

Katie McDermott holds a Master's degree in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Katie also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Georgia's Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Katie attended The University of Georgia, but it is not specified if they obtained a degree there.
