Huang-Wei Chang

Huang-Wei Chang is a Machine Learning Engineer at Figma since August 2024, focusing on AI Platform and Applied Research. Previously, as a Machine Learning Tech Lead at X, the moonshot factory, from May 2023 to August 2024, Huang-Wei led a team in applying computer vision techniques to analyze street view, aerial, and LiDAR data for enhanced electric grid operations. At Verily, from April 2016 to May 2023, Huang-Wei held roles as Tech Lead/Manager, overseeing software engineers and data scientists to develop AI/ML features across multiple healthcare products and projects. Earlier experience includes serving as Staff Software Engineer at Uber, where Huang-Wei led data and ML efforts in life sciences, and as Senior Software Engineer at Google, where contributions were made to spam detection and anomaly detection systems. Huang-Wei holds a PhD in Computational and Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University and an MS in Computer Science and Information Engineering along with a BS in Mathematics and Business Administration from National Taiwan University.
