Basel Zohny

Basel Zohny has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Basel currently works as a Staff Electrical Engineer at Figure since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Tesla from June 2017 to December 2022 as a Sr. Staff Electronics Design Engineer. Before joining Tesla, they were a Senior Hardware Engineer at Aurora Solar Technologies from October 2014 to May 2017. During their time at Aurora Solar Technologies, Basel was responsible for hardware development and support, and also took on various additional roles in IT, operations management, production, and purchasing. Prior to that, they worked at Océ Display Graphics Systems - A Canon Group Company as an Electrical Engineer (Hardware) from January 2009 to October 2014, where they held lead roles in design and project electrical lead for UV curable flatbed printers. Basel's earlier work experience includes working as a Hardware/Firmware Engineer at ESI Environmental Sensors Inc from August 2005 to January 2009, where they contributed significantly to the design and manufacture of moisture monitoring sensors for the Agricultural and Oil & Gas industry.

Basel Zohny completed their Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technologist at Kwantlen Polytechnic University from 2000 to 2002. Afterwards, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering at the University of Victoria, which they completed from 2002 to 2006.
