Richard D. Winston, Jr.

EVP, General Counsel & Secretary at Fike Corporation

As Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Richard Winston oversees enterprise risk, business strategy, compliance and personnel development within the legal department.

Richard has significant legal, corporate governance, transactional and executive management experience from more than 20 years as a leading general counsel and corporate executive in the legal profession, business and non-profit sectors. He has represented both public and private corporations in the manufacturing, information technology, e-commerce, equipment finance, franchise and professional services industries. Prior to joining Fike Corporation, Richard held several general counsel and senior executive positions within Koch Industries, the General Electric Company, Navidec and Waffle House where he was responsible for various legal, executive and governance functions at multi-billion dollar business units. Richard has a Green Belt in Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints and Global Institute for Leadership Development training.

Richard has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, local community foundations, professional associations and economic development initiatives including: Service on the Board of Susan G. Komen Foundation of Greater Kansas City (2016–Present). Chairman of the Kansas City area Theta Boule Foundation’s Scholarship Committee (2014–2015), as well as the boards of Communities in Schools of Wichita / Sedgwick County (2010–2011), the Wichita- Sedgwick County Historical Museum (2010–2011), the Association of Corporate Counsel, Delaware Valley (2006–2007).

Richard is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, as well as the Society for Corporate Governance. He has also served as Fike Corporation’s representative in federal, state and local governmental relations, the Employee Owned S Corporations of America (2012–2015), as well as the company’s interests when sponsoring non-profit organizations.

Richard earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, majoring in both communications and political science. Richard holds a juris doctor from Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Richard lives with his wife and daughter in the Greater Kansas City area.
