Ted O'Grady

Ted O'Grady has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ted started their career as a Developer at Rightsmarket in 1997 and then worked as a Team Lead/Developer at Teamwave from 1999 to 2002. Ted also served as a Team Lead/Developer at EFA Software from April 2002 to October 2002. After that, Ted joined Presslogic as a Developer/Mentor, where they introduced the Agile methodology to the team.

In 2003, they joined ClearStream Consulting as a Project Manager/Business Analyst, helping in the organization of customers and developers for website updates. Ted also led an Agile team in the development of the InformAlberta web application. Ted then moved to CGI in 2004 as a Senior Consultant, where they led the Production Accounting System (PAS) project from inception to its second release. Ted played multiple roles such as Development Lead, Team Lead, Architecture Mentor, Process Mentor, and Performance Team Developer. At CGI, they also implemented Agile practices and led a team of over 40 developers.

In 2007, Ted founded ITForDev, a software development company that caters to the Oil and Gas industry by creating products like Ogmatic and Caltrack. Ted served as the Founder until July 2016, providing management, coaching, and staff to other software development companies. Following that, they joined Chaordix as the VP of Development in September 2016, where they helped global companies leverage crowdsourcing technology for brand and product innovation. Ted'srole involved driving team insights programs, B2B forums, sustainable challenges, and product innovation communities.

After that, Ted founded Spur Labs in January 2018, serving as the Founder and CTO. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Technology Officer at Fillip, where they joined in April 2019.

Ted O'Grady completed their education in a chronological order. Ted first attended Carleton University from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology. Following this, from 1985 to 1991, Ted pursued a Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) degree, still at Carleton University. Lastly, they attended the University of Calgary from 1991 to 1993, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science.
