Samer Hamwi

Samer Hamwi has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and industries. Samer is currently serving as a Board Member at Nexusware Interoperability Solutions since 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Managing Director at Globatech Limited DIFC, where they provided technology support, investment facilitation, go-to-market support, and mentoring to startups.

Mr. Hamwi also co-founded and served as a Director at FINALYTIX INC since 2014. At FINALYTIX, they developed a platform that provides financial insights and increased transparency, cost savings, and benchmarking of financial portfolios for Ultra-HNWIs, Family Offices, and Independent Financial Advisors.

Before establishing FINALYTIX, Samer Hamwi was the Chairman of Globacom LLC, a company that offers Customer Engagement and Enterprise Mobility products and services to various industries globally. Samer also held the role of Group CIO at SHUAA Capital, where they were responsible for strategic planning, developing, and directing information technology activities to support business strategy in GCC and MENA. During their time at SHUAA, they implemented significant business transformation projects and reduced costs through virtualization and server consolidation.

In their earlier career, Mr. Hamwi served as the Group Head of IT at Gibca Ltd, where they initiated the IT department and created integrated business-flow applications for the group companies. Samer also worked as a Project Manager, Information Systems at USPCI, a subsidiary of Union Pacific, where they established the IT department and managed its growth to support the company's expansion.

Throughout their career, Samer Hamwi has been involved in various speaking engagements and conferences, representing the companies they worked for. Samer has also been committed to improving productivity and motivation among their staff through career planning, feedback, and mentoring.

Samer Hamwi has an extensive education history. Samer obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from Damascus University, starting in 1974 and graduating in 1979. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Structural Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington, during the period of 1980 to 1981.

Later on, in 1990, they enrolled at the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business, which took place from 1990 to 1993. In 2008, they attended Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where they participated in the Gartner CIO Academy program, focusing on Management Information Systems, General. This program lasted for one year.

Additionally, Samer Hamwi has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In March 2019, they obtained the Control Room Administrator certification from Automation Anywhere, as well as the IQ Bot Developer certification from the same institution. Moreover, in April 2017, they completed the Machine Learning - Stanford | ONLINE course and received a certificate from Coursera Course Certificates.

Furthermore, during their earlier years of education, Samer attended Runnymede College for Junior High/Intermediate/Middle School Education from 1968 to 1970, although they did not receive a degree from this institution.
