Barbara Akello is a seasoned professional in finance and project management with extensive experience in green finance and business development. Currently serving as a Senior Officer in Technical Assistance Management at Finance in Motion since May 2024, Barbara has previously held significant roles, including Project Consultant and Project Manager at Uganda Green Enterprise Finance Accelerator, where responsibilities encompassed business development and stakeholder management. As Global Business Development Manager at UpEnergy, Barbara focused on market expansion strategies and climate finance initiatives. Earlier roles include Senior Associate at BiD Capital Partners, where investment strategy and USAID project management were key focuses, as well as experience in equity trading at African Alliance. Barbara holds a Master's degree in MBA Entrepreneurship Management from ISBAT University and a BA in Law with a focus on Banking and Corporate Law from the University of Chester.

Finance in Motion is a global impact asset manager focused exclusively on sustainable development in emerging markets. We develop, manage, and advise impact investment funds that address climate change, strengthen biodiversity conservation, foster sustainable natural resource use, improve livelihoods, and promote economic opportunities – contributing to 13 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
