Francis Wasswa began their work experience as a Lecturer at Nelson Mandela University from February 2005 to September 2009. Francis then worked as a Trade Promotion Officer at the Uganda Export Promotion Board from January 2010 to April 2013. Following that, Francis held roles at COLEACP as a National Coordinator from March 2012 to April 2012, and at Adam Smith International as a Lead CBA consultant from January 2012 to December 2012. Francis joined Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI) as a Research & Product Development Manager in May 2013, and later became the Projects & Strategy Manager from August 2022 to February 2023. Currently, Francis is the Head of Strategy Projects & Product Development at Finance Trust Bank Uganda, starting from February 2023.

Francis Wasswa completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at Makerere University from 2000 to 2003. Francis then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics at Nelson Mandela University in 2004. Francis went on to further their education at Nelson Mandela University, completing a Master of Commerce degree in Economics from 2005 to 2008. In 2015, they obtained a certification as a Master Project Manager from the AAPM (American Academy of Project Management).
