Gavin Huang

Gavin Huang is an experienced journalist and editor currently serving as the Asia Companies and Markets Editor and Digital Publishing Journalist at the Financial Times since October 2022. Prior to this role, Huang was a Digital Content Manager at Phillips, where editorial strategies led to a 200% increase in website traffic and a 33% rise in sales within six months. At the South China Morning Post, Huang launched and developed Goldthread, achieving significant audience growth. Previous experience includes sub-editing at Korea JoongAng Daily, where high-quality standards were maintained for timely news coverage, and teaching digital media at Dartmouth College as part of a fellowship. Huang's journalism career began with an internship at NBC News within their Special Reports unit. Huang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Film Studies from Dartmouth College and attended Stuyvesant High School.
