Alissa Desmarais

Alissa Desmarais has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Alissa is currently the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at the Financial Women's Association, a position they have held since May 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of the High Water Women Foundation from May 2019 to May 2022.

Before their roles in the nonprofit sector, Desmarais worked as the Principal at Point Creative Group from July 2017 to June 2019. Alissa also held the position of Executive Director at Creative Alternatives of New York from July 2014 to July 2017, where they managed strategic planning, operations, staff, and fundraising.

Alissa also worked as the Director of Human Resources at Stanton Crenshaw Communications from January 1999 to June 2001, where they built the HR function and was responsible for recruitment, training, and policy development.

Desmarais' early experience includes working as a Human Resources and Training and Development Manager at 3M Purifications - Cuno, Inc. from January 1989 to January 1999, where they managed benefits and 401k plans, handled risk management and labor relations, and implemented performance management systems.

Alissa Desmarais started their education at Stafford High School, where they attended from 1981 to 1985. Following their high school education, they pursued a Bachelor's degree at the University of Connecticut from 1985 to 1989. During their time there, they focused on History with a minor in secondary education.
