David Paulson

David Paulson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. David currently holds the position of Global Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at FINCA Impact Finance since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Independent Consultant from October 2022 to May 2023.

From 2019 to 2022, David worked at Wave Money, where they held various roles, including Head of Operational Risk and Fraud, Interim Head of Risk and Compliance, and Head of Internal Controls.

Before their time at Wave Money, David was the Head of Group Audit and Risk at Advans Microfinance Network from February 2015 to December 2018.

David also has experience working at Women for Women International, where they served as the Director of Risk Management from February 2013 to December 2014 and as the Policy and Internal Control Manager from January 2010 to February 2013.

Prior to that, David worked as an Internal Control Manager at FINCA International from February 2007 to December 2009, and as a Finance and Accounting Consultant at Digital Divide Data from February 2005 to December 2006.

David started their career as an Auditor at Gordon, Hughes & Banks, LLP from 2002 to 2003, and as a Small Enterprise Development Volunteer at Peace Corps from 1999 to 2001. David began their professional journey as an Auditor at Deloitte & Touche from 1997 to 1999.

David Paulson completed their Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) in Accounting from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 1993 to 1997. Following this, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Development from the Thunderbird School of Global Management from 2003 to 2005.
