Rachel Mwesigwa is a seasoned professional in the banking and finance sector with extensive experience in relationship management and savings strategies. Currently serving as a Savings Manager at FINCA Uganda Limited (MDI) since August 2023, Rachel has previously held notable positions such as Relationship Manager in Institutional Banking at NCBA Group and Relationship Manager for Embassies, Multilaterals, and Development Organisations at United Bank for Africa - Uganda. Rachel's background includes teaching roles as an English Language Lecturer and Human Resources Executive at Instituto Superior Politécnico de Kangonjo, and various positions at Stanbic Bank Uganda, Ecobank Uganda, and an internship at Bank of Uganda. Educational qualifications include a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, an MBA from East and Southern Africa Management Institute, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Uganda Management Institute, complemented by a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Uganda Christian University.

FINCA Uganda started its operations in Jinja District in 1992 as a microfinance institution. In 2004, FINCA Uganda was licensed as a Microfinance Deposit Taking Institution (MDI) thus becoming the first MDI to be regulated by Bank of Uganda under the MDI Act of 2003. FINCA Uganda is part of the FINCA Impact Finance Network, a group of 20 microfinance and financial institutions that provides socially responsible financial services and enables low-income entrepreneurs and small business owners to invest in the future.
