Matthew Miller has a diverse work experience in various industries. Matthew started their career as an Engine Cadet at Maersk Line, Limited, where they gained hands-on experience in maintenance and repairs of diesel plants and auxiliary systems. Matthew also worked as a Project Management Intern at Detyens Shipyard, where they were responsible for individual projects and ensuring schedule compliance. Matthew then joined the Military Sealift Command as an Engine Cadet, where they assisted with routine maintenance and generator overhauls. Matthew later joined Maersk Line, Limited again as an Engine Cadet, focusing on maintenance and welding projects. Matthew also served as the Team Captain for the Men's Basketball team and was the President of the KP Investment Club. Matthew was appointed as the Honor Board Chairman at the United States Merchant Marine Academy, leading a staff to maintain integrity and ethics. Matthew gained experience in waterfront operations and facilities maintenance as a Lead Dockmaster at Fincantieri Marine Systems North America, Inc. Currently, Matthew serves as the Director of Waterfront Operations, Facilities, and Maintenance at the same company. In addition, they are an Officer in the US Navy Reserve.

Matthew Miller obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering and Shipyard Management from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where they studied from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, they also received a Credential Of Readiness from the Harvard Business School Online, specializing in Business Administration and Management. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained the Refrigeration Transition and Recovery Universal Certification from the US Environmental Protection Agency. Matthew further expanded their education in 2019 by completing a Professional Education program in Understanding Organizational Strategy and Capabilities from MIT xPRO, as well as a Professional Education program in Design of Port Facilities from the American Society of Civil Engineers. After taking a break from formal education, they pursued a Master's of Engineering in Innovation Strategy and Management at Case Western Reserve University from 2021 to 2022. Furthermore, Matthew holds the certification of 3rd Engineer Unlimited Horse Power (Diesel, Steam, and Gas Turbines) from the U.S. Coast Guard, which they obtained in 2017.
