Martin Kretz

Martin Kretz has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Martin is currently the Co-Founder and CTO at Finch since April 2020. Prior to that, Martin worked at Sony for 10 years, from 2010 to 2020, starting as a Senior Software Engineer and later becoming a Master Software Engineer. During this time, they worked on various projects and collaborated with Google.

Before joining Sony, Martin worked at Sony Mobile Communications as a Master Software Engineer from 2013 to 2015. Here, they undertook a short-term assignment in the Bay Area, focusing on gamification and deploying and monitoring back-end services.

Martin also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Nationalencyklopedin from 2012 to 2013, where they designed and developed a new software platform. Martin was a Partner and Senior Software Engineer at Commind from 2011 to 2012, where they developed apps and worked with clients on Android, iPhone, and Ruby-on-Rails platforms.

In 2009, Martin founded Bitbetter, a one-person software company, and worked on product development until 2011. Prior to that, they worked at Sony Ericsson for five years, from 2004 to 2009, in various roles such as Senior Software Engineer, Manager, and Software Engineer. Martin contributed to key applications, managed an application lab, and initiated architectural improvements.

Before Sony Ericsson, Martin worked as a Consultant at Tactel in 2003 and as a Software Engineer at Anoto from 2001 to 2003, where they focused on software prototyping and PC communication.

Overall, Martin Kretz has extensive experience in software engineering, project management, and entrepreneurial endeavors, with a strong focus on mobile and web technologies.

Martin Kretz pursued their education in the field of Computer Science. Martin completed their M. Sc. degree in Computer Science from Lund University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. In 1999, they also spent a year at The University of Queensland, undertaking a similar M. Sc. program in Computer Science.
