Roelof Briers

Roelof Briers has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Roelof currently holds the position of Engineering Lead at FinChoice since May 2021. In this role, they have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and has led high-impact projects focused on AWS application and infrastructure migration.

Prior to their current role, Roelof worked at Capfin for nearly a decade. Roelof served as a Solutions Architect from December 2017 to May 2021 and as a Lead Developer from September 2012 to December 2017. These roles allowed him to contribute to the development of innovative solutions and ensure efficient project execution.

Before Capfin, Roelof gained valuable experience at DataCash, where they held various positions. Roelof served as an Alternative Payment Gateway Dev Team Lead from August 2010 to August 2012 and as a Ukash Payment Lead from August 2005 to August 2010. During their time at DataCash, they acquired expertise in payment systems development.

Roelof's career began at Bytes Software, where they worked as a Senior Developer from October 2000 to August 2005. Roelof demonstrated their technical skills in software development during this period.

Roelof started their professional journey as a Web Master and Web Developer at Uskotec from August 1999 to August 2000. This early experience provided him with a foundation in web development.

Throughout their career, Roelof has consistently showcased their strong technical acumen and leadership abilities, making a significant impact in each position they held.

Roelof Briers completed a Management Development Programme (MDP) at Stellenbosch Business School in 2016. From 2004 to 2006, they earned a National Certificate in Datametrics from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika. Prior to that, in 1992 to 1996, they attended DF Malan, although their degree or field of study is not specified. Additionally, Roelof has obtained several certifications, including the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2022, Advanced Design Patterns: Design Principles from LinkedIn in 2021, and The Open Group Certified: TOGAF® 9 Certified in 2020, among others.
