Markus Virtanen

Markus Virtanen currently serves as the Lead Data Scientist at Fingrid Oyj since May 2020, focusing on model-driven business development and AI/ML research. Previously, Markus held the position of Chief Data Scientist at Valio from June 2016 to April 2020, where efforts centered around enhancing retail business using machine learning and big data systems. Prior to that, Markus worked at Elisa as a Data Scientist, contributing to machine decision-making and network optimization, and as a System Specialist, where automation for network functions was developed. Markus's career also includes teaching roles, software development, and experience in various technical positions across multiple companies. Markus holds two degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology.
