John Williams

John Williams has over 18 years of experience in the field of engineering. John began their career in 2004 as an Embedded Software Engineer at Raytheon BBN Technologies. During their time there, they developed a distributed real-time inter-processor network communications infrastructure and authored system network libraries. In 2008, they moved to Ibis Tek - Robotic Solutions as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, where they designed network protocols, daemons, and a web interface for wireless Ethernet radios used in unmanned systems. In 2015, they joined Carnegie Robotics LLC as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer and Deputy Program Manager. During this time, they led the design and implementation of embedded systems for autonomous platforms, and achieved safety certification to IEC 60730 and IEC 61508 standards. In 2019, they joined Argo AI as a Software Quality Lead, Embedded Functional Safety Lead, Embedded Software Team Lead, and Senior Embedded Software Engineer. Finally, in 2022, they moved to Finish Robotics as the VP of Engineering.

John Williams graduated from Penn State University in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in both Software Engineering and Computer Engineering. In May 2019, they obtained a Functional Safety Engineer certification from TÜV SÜD.
