Amar Nijjar

Amar Nijjar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years in various roles and companies. In 2004, they started their career as a Relationship Manager at the Bank of Montreal. Amar then moved on to work as a Commercial Banking Manager at RBC Royal Bank from 2004 to 2006. Subsequently, they joined CIBC Capital Markets as a Business Development Manager and later as a Lead Originator for National Accounts in the Real Estate division from 2006 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2013, Amar worked at First National Financial LP as an AVP Institutional Placements & Real Estate Finance, where they were responsible for debt origination and syndication strategies for various real estate projects across Canada. Amar then joined JLL in 2013 and served as a Vice President and Executive Vice President & Practice Lead in the Debt Capital Markets division until 2017. During their time at JLL, they were recognized as the #1 Broker in 2017.

In 2017, Amar founded R2 Companies, and from 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Founder of the company. Amar also worked as a Board Member (founding) at CRELA - Commercial Real Estate Lenders Association from 2014 to the present, focusing on knowledge sharing and networking within the commercial real estate lending community.

Amar has also been involved in philanthropic efforts. In 2014, they founded www.Educate-kids.org, a non-profit organization that supports underprivileged children worldwide by providing them with essential resources for survival and education.

In 2019, Amar participated in the Techstars #1 PropTech Program, which aimed to solve industry problems in the property and commercial real estate sector. Amar later founded Finneo in 2020, serving as its Founder. Finneo is a company focused on providing superior results for clients in the commercial real estate debt advisory space through the use of advanced technology and data integration platforms.

Throughout their career, Amar Nijjar has demonstrated expertise in commercial real estate lending, institutional placements, debt financing, and leadership roles in the industry.

Amar Nijjar has a diverse education history. In 2002, they obtained a B.Eng degree in Chemical Engineering from DCET. Afterward, from 2003 to 2005, Amar pursued an MBA in Real Estate Finance at the MBA Schulich School of Business (York University). In 2006, they focused on Commercial Real Estate by obtaining a Realtor certification from OREA. Later in 2012-2014, Amar obtained a Principal Broker license for Ontario, BC, and Alberta with a specialization in Commercial Property Financing from CAAMP. Lastly, in 2016-2018, they acquired a Canada-wide securities Dealer license from OSC, specializing in Securities.
