Päivi Michael

Päivi Michael (née Lehtonen) is an experienced professional in environmental and social advisory roles, currently serving as an Environmental and Social Adviser at Finnfund since September 2020. Prior to this, Päivi worked as a Senior Advisor at the Deaconess Foundation for a brief period in early 2020. From May 2014 to July 2019, Päivi held the position of Counsellor/Head of Cooperation focused on energy and environment at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Päivi’s earlier experience includes senior consultancy and project management roles at NIRAS Finland from 2006 to 2014, and a consultancy position with TechnoServe Tanzania in 2004. Päivi holds a Master’s degree in Business and Development Studies from Copenhagen Business School and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from Laurea Polytechnic.
