Kaisa Raatikainen

Kaisa Raatikainen is a Senior Research Scientist at the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) since August 2023, specializing in interdisciplinary research on biodiversity policies and social-ecological aspects of nature conservation. Previously, Raatikainen served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Jyväskylä, focusing on biodiversity impacts of traditional rural biotope management and human-nature relations. Additional experience includes a post-doctoral researcher role at the University of Turku, where research centered on ecosystem services in the SW Finland Archipelago Biosphere Reserve. Raatikainen has also contributed as a Conservation Biologist for Metsähallitus, managed EU-funded projects on conservation strategies, and taught various courses related to ecology and geography. Raatikainen holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a Master's Degree in Ecology and Environmental Management from the University of Jyväskylä.
