Kristian Spilling is an accomplished marine biologist with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Agder since December 2018, Kristian also holds senior research positions at the Finnish Environment Institute and an adjunct professorship at the University of Helsinki, where courses on the Baltic Sea ecosystem are organized and taught. Prior roles include Senior Scientist and Researcher at the Finnish Environment Institute, focusing on algae for biofuel, diatom ecology, and phytoplankton studies. Kristian's educational background includes a PhD and MSc in Marine Biology from the University of Helsinki, as well as a Bachelor's degree from the University of Bergen and studies at the University of Copenhagen.
