Maija Faehnle is a Group Manager and Senior Research Scientist at the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) since October 2017, leading the Just Transformation group within the Societal Change Unit and coordinating the Built Environment Solutions group. Previous experience includes roles as Communication Manager at Tampere University, focusing on social urban development projects, and several positions at the Finnish Environment Institute and University of Helsinki, where Maija engaged in urban civic activism, interdisciplinary research projects, and e-service development. With a Ph.D. in Regional Studies from the University of Helsinki and a Master's in Urban Forestry, Maija has a strong background in urban planning, stakeholder collaboration, and the integration of social and ecological sciences in policy development.
