P-R Stark

P-R Stark is the current Director of Machine Learning Research at FinRegLab. Prior to joining FinRegLab, Stark served as a Principal at Oliver Wyman from July 2018 to August 2019. Stark has also held positions at Promontory Financial Group, an IBM Company and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

At Promontory Financial Group, Stark served as a Senior Principal from September 2012 to April 2015. In this role, Stark advised clients on risk management and compliance issues related to consumer financial products and services. Stark was also a specialist in evaluating UDAAP risks, evaluating and enhancing compliance management processes, conducting internal investigations, developing remediation plans, implementing UDAAP controls, and monitoring third-parties.

From January 2011 to September 2012, Stark was an Enforcement Attorney at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In this role, Stark provided legal analysis and market research for rulemakings mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act. Stark also initiated enforcement investigations, supported examinations, and developed procedures for supervision-enforcement interaction. Additionally, Stark developed a strategic plan for policy priorities and framework for monitoring the Bureau’s largest operating division.

Stark has authored speeches for the Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury and the Bureau’s first Congressional report.

P-R Stark attended Harvard University for law school, the University of Oxford for their Masters in Philosophy, Politics & Economics, and Princeton University for their Bachelor's degree in Classics.
