Gustavo Reyes, CISSP, CEH has extensive work experience in the field of information security and banking. Gustavo currently serves as the Vice President, Information Security Officer at FinWise Bank, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Sunwest Bank from December 2020 to April 2023, also as a Vice President, Information Security Officer.

During their time at Sunwest Bank, Gustavo played a significant role in strengthening and improving the Information Security, Incident Response, Business Continuity, and Physical Security Programs for 13 bank locations across 5 states. Gustavo was responsible for conducting security awareness training, simulated phishing exercises, and forensic analysis of suspicious activities. Gustavo also contributed to FS-ISAC threat feeds, performed access control reviews of critical systems, and conducted internal and external penetration tests. Gustavo provided exceptional communication to all business units, including executive-level management and the Board.

Prior to their role at Sunwest Bank, Gustavo worked at EnerBank USA from 2007 to 2020. Gustavo held various positions during their tenure, including Assistant Vice President & Manager, Change Management; Assistant Vice President, Information Security Program Manager; Officer, Operations Support Manager; Operations Analyst; Business Analyst; Assistant IT Admin; Lender; and Customer Service Representative. In these roles, they managed teams, conducted system tests, introduced educational platforms, performed clean desk audits, and coordinated key initiatives and acquisitions.

Gustavo Reyes, CISSP, CEH has a strong educational background in economics and computer and information systems security/information assurance. Gustavo completed their Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at the University of Utah from 2002 to 2007. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's Degree in Economics from 2007 to 2009 at the same institution. Continuing their education, Gustavo obtained a second Master's Degree, this time in Business Administration with a focus on Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance, from the University of Utah in 2009 to 2013.

In addition to their academic achievements, Gustavo has also obtained several certifications. Gustavo became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) through (ISC)² in June 2015. Furthermore, they earned the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council in March 2023. Lastly, they obtained the Certified Community Bank Security Officer (CCBSO) certification from ICBA in September 2022.
