Brian Tschinkel

Brian Tschinkel currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at the Hospital for Special Surgery since January 2024. Prior to this role, Tschinkel was the Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Security, Identity, and IT Business Continuity at Weill Cornell Medicine from June 2014 to January 2024, where management of a $9 million operating budget and implementation of a multi-year security strategy were key responsibilities. Earlier experience includes positions at Gen Re as Security Compliance Analyst, overseeing information security policy and compliance, and at MBIA as an IT Desktop Support Analyst, providing IT support and managing security compliance audits. Tschinkel holds a Master's Degree in Information Systems with a focus on Security and Information Assurance from Pace University and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the Florida Institute of Technology.
