Tom Bellman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Tom'smost recent position was as the Director of User Experience at Fio Corporation starting in 2017. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of UX Research & Design at S&P Global Market Intelligence from 2012 to 2017. During their tenure, they also served as the Head of User Experience, Risk Products where they managed a team of UX designers and led the design and development of web-based solutions.
Before joining S&P Global Market Intelligence, Tom was the Head of User Experience at R2 Financial Technologies from 2009 to 2012. Tom played a pivotal role in establishing UX best practices and designing a new user interface for the company's flagship product, NxR2.
Tom also has experience as a Product Manager and Head of UX at SOMA Networks, where they worked on defining a tablet device and managing offshore development projects. Tom briefly worked as an Interaction Designer at Logitech in 2009.
In the early stages of their career, Tom held various positions, including User Experience Architect at MDS Analytical Technologies, Founder and President of FocalText, User Interface Designer at Circadence Corporation, and Freelance New Media Designer/Developer for clients such as Alias|Wavefront, Nelson Thomson Learning, and TSX.
Tom started their career as a UI Designer and Team Lead at Interval Research, where they worked on innovative projects like the Soundscapes system.

From 1981 to 1983, Tom attended Vanier College and earned a Diploma in Pure and Applied Sciences. Tom then pursued a 3-year diploma in Jazz Composition and Arranging at Humber College from 1983 to 1986.
Afterward, from 1986 to 1987, Tom attended Tel Aviv University where they studied Music Composition, although they did not pursue a specific degree at this institution.
Tom went on to the University of Toronto and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from 1991 to 1994. Later, they pursued further education at the same university and obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from 1995 to 1997.

Fio is a developer of a point-of-care medical device used to gather data through interactions with a healthcare system. It operates at the intersection between healthcare delivery and data with a focus on strengthening the decentralized management of infectious diseases. Fio's solution, Fionet, enables real-time exchange of information betweenthe front lines of care delivery and stakeholders across the healthcare spectrum. Fionet works with mobile companion devices that help health workers deliver quality care while automatically transmitting primary data to a central web portal. Fionet is designed for interoperability with existing health information technology infrastructure and emerging digital health solutions. Fio’s team draws from a hybrid talent pool, working at the nexus of big data, diagnostics, and telecommunications.
