Henare Royal

Henare Royal is an experienced ICT Security and Risk Manager currently employed at Fire and Emergency NZ since April 2023. Prior to this role, Henare served as a Senior Information Security Consultant at the Ministry of Justice - New Zealand from October 2022 to April 2023. Henare has a strong background in information security, having led the information security team at the Department of Conservation (DOC) from January 2018 to October 2022, focusing on the delivery and improvement of security services, as well as providing security advice and conducting risk assessments. Previous experience includes positions as an Information Security Graduate at Inland Revenue NZ and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), and a GovTech Talent Graduate at the Department of Internal Affairs (NZ). Henare holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems and Marketing and a Diploma in Maoritanga from Victoria University of Wellington.
