Sarah Kara

Sarah Kara currently serves as Chief Advisor to the Deputy Chief Executive at Fire and Emergency NZ, a position held since April 2022. With prior experience as Community Risk Manager for the Department of Internal Affairs (NZ) from October 2015 to March 2022, and roles as Principal Advisor for both Incident Management and Resilience & Recovery at Wellington City Council, Sarah has developed a strong background in emergency management and public service. Previous roles include Advisor for Business Continuity & Emergency Management at Inland Revenue NZ, where responsibilities involved planning for Business Impact Analysis Workshops and relationship management. Sarah's career began in customer service, demonstrating skills in debt collection, case management, and quality risk management. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from Victoria University of Wellington.
