Matthew Queen

Matthew Queen is a Spacecraft Mechanisms Engineer at Firefly Aerospace, specializing in the structures and mechanisms of the Blue Ghost spacecraft since April 2024. Previously, Matthew held roles as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Trans Astronautica Corporation, where multiple mechatronics projects were designed and implemented, and at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, focusing on developing methods for cutting with a pulse fiber laser and improving manufacturing procedures. Other experience includes internships in product development, mechanical engineering, and summer internship at USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Matthew earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2023 and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2022. Early education was completed at Peking University and Polytechnic School, culminating in a high school diploma in 2018.
