Brian Yang

Brian Yang is a scientist with extensive experience in the biotechnology field. Currently serving as a Scientist at Firefly Bio since March 2024, Brian has been a Senior Scientist (III) at Merck since December 2021. Prior roles include Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco from September 2012 to December 2021, as well as a Consultant in Synthetic Biology and Protein Engineering at Kyverna Therapeutics in early 2021. Brian began their career as a Staff Research Associate II at UCSF and also worked as a Staff Research Assistant at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Developmental and Stem Cell Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, earned in 2019, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley, obtained in 2009.
