John Flygare

John Flygare has extensive work experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. John is currently the Co-Founder and CSO at Firefly Biologics since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Versant Ventures as an Entrepreneur from March 2022 to December 2022. From December 2016 to March 2022, they held the position of Senior Principal Scientist at Merck. Before that, they were a Principal Scientist at Genentech from January 1999 to November 2016. Additionally, John Flygare has teaching experience as a Lecturer at Stanford University from January 1997 to December 2013. John taught various chemistry courses and received excellent ratings from students. John also worked as a Research Scientist at Tularik from 1994 to 1999.

John Flygare has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Carleton College. John then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern University. After completing their Ph.D., they went on to pursue Postdoctoral Studies at Stanford University.
