Urban Jenelten

Urban Jenelten has over 25 years of experience in the chemical engineering and biotechnology sectors. Since March 1997, Urban has held various leadership positions at Firmenich, including Vice President of Process Chemistry Sciences & New Technologies, where responsibilities include the optimization and intensification of chemical production processes to improve cost competitiveness and the assessment and integration of new technologies. Previously, Urban served as Director of Process Optimization and New Technologies, focusing on enhancing existing processes to achieve cost reductions and competitiveness, as well as Director of Process Science, working on biotransformation processes for new flavor and fragrance ingredients. Prior to Firmenich, Urban worked at Von Roll Unwelttechnik as a Process Engineer, specializing in process design. Urban holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering/Biotechnology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s in Process Engineering from ETH Zürich.
