Esmeralda Rosales

Esmeralda Rosales has a diverse work experience in the field of early learning and child development. Esmeralda started their career in 2001 as a Clerical Office Assistant at San José Unified School District, where they provided support to district departments and maintained office records for the Young Families Program. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of ECE Program Support Specialist, assisting staff and teen parents in child development classrooms.

In 2013, Esmeralda joined the Community Child Care Council of Santa Clara County, Inc. (4Cs) as a Child Development Coordinator, where they mentored and coached licensed family child care providers. Esmeralda also ensured compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing child care programs.

In 2014, Esmeralda returned to San José Unified School District as the Young Families Program Coordinator/Career Technical Education Teacher. Esmeralda taught child development-related courses to teen parents and non-parenting students, covering topics such as child development careers, activity planning, and parenting skills. Esmeralda also provided technical support to staff and teen parents and assisted in child development classrooms.

In 2020, Esmeralda joined FIRST 5 Santa Clara County, starting as an Early Learning Program Coordinator. Their responsibilities included maintaining accurate participant information and providing training and assistance for Quality Matters agencies and providers. Esmeralda later took on the role of Early Learning Program Officer, where they managed contracts and projects related to early learning program quality improvement and block grant distribution. Currently, Esmeralda is serving as the Director of Early Learning, supporting the strategic planning and implementation of workforce development strategies and initiatives.
