Carmela Murphy

Carmela Murphy is an accomplished student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Puppet Animation and Screenwriting. Currently serving as an Orientation Leader, Carmela facilitates bonding activities for new students and leads groups through Chicago to enhance their transition. In addition, Carmela is an Art Sale Participant, designing and selling knitwear and fiber arts while engaging with customers. At First Ascent Climbing & Fitness, Carmela contributes as hospitality staff and leads outreach programs aimed at promoting racial equity and justice. Carmela also played a key role as an Art Director, managing a team to create a large mural for a climbing competition, and was selected as one of eight students to participate in the presidential search process for SAIC.
