John Berghorst

John Berghorst is an accomplished financial executive with extensive experience in commercial real estate and credit risk management. Currently serving as Chief Lending Officer and EVP of Commercial Real Estate at First Bank Chicago since August 2022, John has previously held senior positions at First Bank of Highland Park, CIBC U.S., The Private Bank and Trust Company, Inland Mortgage Capital Corp, iStar Financial, Fremont Investment & Loan, and LaSalle Bank. Notable achievements include leading teams to significantly reduce distressed real estate assets and successfully implementing risk management programs throughout various organizations. John holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
