Joseph Matte

Joseph Matte has over 15 years of experience in IT Security and Compliance. Joseph is currently the Senior Director of IT Security & Compliance at First Business.

Previously, Joseph was the Information Security Governance, IRS 1075 Compliance and Audit Consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Administration from January 2019 to November 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds from May 2017 to December 2018 and for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue from November 2013 to May 2017.

From February 2011 to May 2012, Joseph was an Information Systems Security Engineer for Intelligent Waves, LLC. Joseph also served as an Information Security Architecture Consultant for Scitor Corporation from September 2010 to February 2011.

Joseph was a Senior Information Security Specialist for Radiance Technologies from May 2010 to September 2010 and a Communications and Information Systems Officer for the NY Air National Guard from July 2007 to March 2009. Joseph began their career as an Information Systems Security Engineer for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) from September 2006 to August 2009.

Joseph Matte has a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Norwich University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Lamar University. Joseph also has certifications from ISC(2) in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco in Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), Microsoft in Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) - Server 2008 - Active Directory, and Microsoft in Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) - Server 2008 - Network Infrastructure. Additionally, they have a certification from the United States Department of Defense in (Expired) Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information Access (TS/SCI) and a Cisco Certified Design Associate certification.

Joseph Matte reports to Corey A. Chambas, President & CEO. They are on a team with Terry Kotsakis - VP, Treasury Management, Dave Schmidt - VP, SBA Lending, and David Shaw - SVP, Wealth Advisor. Megan Veldkamp - Senior Business & IT Analyst, Jason Denhollander - Salesforce Developer, and Jason White - Salesforce Developer report to Joseph Matte.
